As I add 45s to our inventory, I pick select 45s to highlight with mp3 "snippets" so you can hear the music yourself. I only record "snippets" of tunes I particularly like, ones I think have been under-played and under-appreciated, or ones that are so rare and wonderful I'll never hear them otherwise. For myself, I keep an iTunes playlist of these "snippets," and that playlist is one I listen to most often. These pages chronicle the mp3 "snippets" I've added to our online "jukebox" in reverse chronological order. You can browse the pages to see what was added and when. Click on the blue "Play" button to play the snippet, or click on a song's title to load the page. Many of these 45 records are still for sale, though just as many have been sold. I hope you enjoy perusing these pages as much as I have enjoyed putting them together!

The Hollies
1974, Epic 11100
Genre: Power Pop
This gorgeous, Albert-Hammond-penned ballad became The Hollies' last Top 10 hit ... and the record's awe-inspiring harmonies were a fitting swan song for the group. I just never hear this often enough, so I'm sticking an mp3 "snippet" of it into our "jukebox"... Enjoy!

Ella Fitzgerald
1960, Verve 10224
Genre: Christmas
After hearing this, I'm convinced that no one can do "Jingle Bells" as well as Ella! Joy to the World! This single was culled from Fitzgerald's 1960 Christmas album, Ella Wishes You A Swinging Christmas. Check out the mp3 "snippet"!

The Gladiolas
1957, Excello 2101
Genre: Vocal Groups (Doo-Wop)
Here's a beautiful copy of the original version of "Little Darlin'" by the group that included author Maurice Williams (later of the Zodiacs). Not to be missed! This copy's audio isn't perfect but is so fine I had to capture an mp3 "snippet" for you to hear. Some think the Diamonds version is superior, but you gotta give the original its due... Enjoy!

Bobby Fuller Four
1966, Mustang 3018
Genre: Garage/Psych
How to categorize this amazing recording? At first, I was thinking Power Pop, but then there's a grungy element and a propulsive beat that made me think Garage Rock, but halfway through I began to wonder if Northern Soul fans claim it as their own... and they do! Have a listen to the mp3 "snippet" I made and decide for yourself... Whatever you call it, I think you'll agree it's a winner!
