About Classic 45s

Classic 45s is owned by Leland Scott, an avid 45 record collector for over 50 years. He had been selling 45s through auction on eBay and other sources for several years when he opened Classic 45s in 2001 as a model web-based record store geared to 45 collectors.

At Classic 45s, you can search or browse through our extensive collection of 45 rpm records from the 1950ss to the present. Look through our virtual "Mint Boxes" or the "Bargain Bin," or design your own virtual box using our advanced search form. We're based in the United States, but welcome customers from around the world.

Our prices are extremely competitive, and we carefully grade each record as we add them to inventory. We grade on three dimensions — label, vinyl, and audio — to give you the best possible picture of the 45s in our catalog. For many items, we also include a scan of the label as well. Finally, the detailed information page for each record contains release and chart data for each 45 record, as well as producer and songwriter credits. A few years ago we started adding track times and mix information. We try to give you as complete a picture as possible, since you can't actually pick the record up and look at it as you would in a physical — as opposed to a virtual — record store.

The Classic 45s "Jukebox" is filled with snippets of songs highlighting the broad range of musical styles of interest to our customers. Assuming that most collectors know the hits, we tend to post B sides or lesser known artists or songs. All of the snippets are songs that we personally like, and we hope that you will enjoy them too!
