This page contains a list of rare Northern Soul 45s from the Louise Neal Collection that we plan to add to inventory in the coming weeks. The list shows the artist, catalog number, year, and a minimum bid, in addition to two photos of each 45. Typically, the minimum bid is 10-20 percent lower than the price will be once we add it to inventory.
Nearly all of the 45s on this page are new, unplayed records (mostly promos) from the Louise Neal collection. All the 45s are deep-cleaned with our Nitty Gritty cleaner and play-graded. Individual grades for Label, Vinyl, and Audio are shown in parentheses, preceded by an overall grade.
Once we add a record to inventory, we will remove it from this page, and we also plan to add new preview 45s from time to time. Each record will spend at least a week on this page prior to being added to Classic 45s. We are providing this page to give customers a heads-up about what's coming from the Neal collection, and to let them purchase 45s before they get added to the site.
Bidding Instructions
By default, auctions will end at 7 PM EST 5-6 days after the first bid is received. (Note: In deference to bidders from Europe, as of 11/5/15 we are moving the default bidding deadline back 2 hours.) If you place a bid on a record from this page, I will update the page to show a bid has been placed. At that point, other customers have 5 days to enter their own bid. If no other bid is received, the original bidder will get the record at the bid price.
To place a bid, send a message using our "Contact Us" form.
For 45s with a minimum bid of $100 or more, please place new high bids at least $10 higher than the previous high bid; for 45s under $100, increments of $5 or more are acceptable.
On the final day of an auction, we will notify competing bidders of any new high bids until 5 PM EST. After that, please check the website, as we'll try to keep it updated through 7 PM. The highest bid sent by 7 PM EST will win the auction. Auction winners will be notified as early as possible, but no later than the next morning, and the website will be updated to reflect the auction results by early afternoon.
It is acceptable to submit both a new high bid and a maximum bid at the same time. This way, if your high bid is topped near the end of the auction, we can bid on your behalf up to your maximum price. For example, you can submit a bid saying "$450 up to $550."
The default payment method is PayPal, so please submit your bid using your PayPal address so we can invoice you if you are an auction winner. We can also accept credit card payments, but please let us know in advance if that is your preferred payment option.
