 This is the 1982 reissue from the album The Beatles 20 Greatest Hits. The record has a reproduction orange/yellow "swirl" Capitol label. This release has the same Stereo version on both sides. It was originally released in 1964 on Tollie 9008, one of a few early Beatles songs that had been hits in the U.K. but that Capitol for some reason failed to get the rights to in their license deal with EMI. Given the unquenchable thirst for Beatles music in 1964, especially in the U.S., smaller labels managed to hit big with tunes not licensed to Capitol (list is in chronological order by U.S. release):- "She Loves You" #1, Jan (Swan),
- "Please Please Me" #3, Feb (Vee-Jay),
- "Twist And Shout" #2, Mar (Tollie),
- "Do You Want To Know A Secret" #2, Mar (Vee-Jay), and
- "Love Me Do" #1, Apr (Tollie).
After "Love Me Do" in April 1964, no label but Capitol would release Beatles music (not counting Apple, which was owned by Capitol). Note: The record itself is pristine Mint except for a little bubbling on one label, and the picture sleeve is nearly flawless.
