 I believe that if you gave a man from Mars this record and said, which is the A side? After listening to both, he might very well pick "Gone, Gone, Gone"... it's that good, too! He would have no cultural reference to suggest that "I Think We're Alone Now" was the hit. Seriously, I grade both of these songs "5" in my iTunes library (which translates to a 2-star recommendation on Classic 45s). One of these days I'll make the time to put a snippet of "Gone" in our "jukebox!" Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Roulette Records factory sleeve. The labels are Near Mint, reflecting a couple small spots of light ringwear. Likewise, the Near Mint vinyl has a few very light scuffs. The audio on both sides grades very close to Mint. When Tommy James sings that "the beating of our hearts is the only sound," that really is the only sound you hear... the minimal surface noise audible near the beginning having disappeared. :-) (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)
