As Joel Whitburn, in the latest release of his wonderful Top Pop Singles book notes, this New Zealand group had two other singles of historical significance besides the one "Six Months In A Leaky Boat." The group were contemporaries of, and had a lot in common musically with, U.K.'s Squeeze. Split Enz soon merged into the similarly inclined New Zealand band Crowded House, which had a good deal more success.
